SACC Melbourne: 2025 Midsummer Celebration
On Friday the 28th of June, the SACC Melbourne community gathered to celebrate Swedish Midsummer at the Scandinavian-inspired café and restaurant, ÖPPEN.
The evening began with a welcome drink and a chance to mingle before guests sat down to enjoy a cosy three-course dinner. The menu featured smörgåsbröd to start, followed by a buffet of Midsummer classics, including herring, potatoes, meatballs and gravlax and ended on a sweet note with traditional strawberry cake and coffee.
In true Swedish spirit, we sang snapsvisor between courses and held a fun Midsummer-themed quiz where the Aussie team unexpectedly beat the Swedes!
The evening was filled with laughter, joy, and meaningful cross-cultural connection.
