“Decarbonising Australia’s energy infrastructure” – a practical step starting in South Australia towards a cleaner environment, more modern grid, and an energy system that evolves alongside the Australia’s climate ambitions.

🔄  What We’re Doing

ElectraNet in SA leads Australia’s first trial of Hitachi Energy’s eco-efficient, SF6-free high-voltage switchgear.

🌍  Why It Matters

Sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) has long been the industry standard for electrical equipment, however the gas has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) 24,300 times greater than CO₂.

With Hitachi Energy sustainability innovation, ElectraNet is effectively future-proofing its assets to reduce environmental footprint while maintaining high standards of performance and safety of the power grid.
