NORDIC OPEN GOLF DAY 2025 – SUMMARY AND IMAGES

Nordic Open Golf Day 2025 – A day OOO with competition, networking & Nordic spirit!

The annual Nordic Open Golf Day 2025 was a resounding success, bringing together 76 players across 19 teams and an additional 20 guests for a post-game lunch and networking event at Moore Park Golf, Sydney on 7 March.

This highly anticipated sold-out event has become a staple within the Nordic and Estonian business community, offering a perfect blend of friendly competition and professional networking in a relaxed atmosphere.

A Game of Skill & Strategy

With a mix of corporate and individual teams, players of all levels, female and male participated in an Ambrose format game, making for an engaging and strategic round of golf.

The Moore Park Golf app added an interactive touch, allowing teams to track live leaderboards and scores throughout the event.

And the Winners Are…

1st Place – Sweden Mixed Team
Fredrik Avellen, Erik Södergren, Johan Hempel and Martin Cvizek

2nd Place – Sweden Team Elekta
Gavin Williams, Jason Arts, Julius Ambat, and Benn Perkins

3rd Place – Finland Mixed Team
Andrew Waite, Mikael Koski, Pär From and Nick Webster

4th Place – Estonia Mixed Team
Marika Kompus, Hendrik Urm, Carl Urm and Art Protsin

Big Congratulations to all!

The Individual prizes female and male for Nearest to Pin were won by Louise Wärnelid, SACC and Pär From, Nosto.

Longest Drive Female winner was Jinny Park, Volvo Car Australia and Hendrik Urm, Urm Management Group won the Longest Drive Male prize.

All players had a chance to win a brand new Volvo EX30 Twin Motor Performance Ultra, with a hole-in-one on hole 10.

This year, no players managed to achieve a Hole-in-One, but we had a Closest to HiO prize to reward the nearest attempt. Andrew Waite from FACC claimed the title, winning a luxurious Sydney hotel stay for two in an Executive Superior King Room with Club Lounge Breakfast, afternoon High Tea and evening canapes and cocktails. Generously sponsored by The Fullerton Hotel Sydney.

The on time award – A watch by Galvin Watch Company was taken home by Chris Langby, FACC.

Congrats all, fantastic effort!

A Kopparberg Cider was handed out to everyone who hit the green on hole 15 and the two lucky door prize winners received a selection of Nordic design products sponsored by Nordic Fusion and a $100 gift voucher from Yum Yum Swedish Candy.

During the day we also ran the Nordic Putting Competition, which took place in front of the club house throughout the day for golfers and lunch only participants. The winner of the 2025 Putting comp was Paul Miller, Deutsch Miller with a hole in one! Runner up was Kristina Vikman, Some Agency. Second runner up was Luke Bennett, Helly Hansen and third runner up was Justin Noble, Volvo Car Australia.

At the Nordic Open Golf Day 2025 we were also very excited to host the Nordic & Estonian Ambassadors and General Consuls Putting Competition. Taking part in 2025 were, HE Arto Haapea Ambassador of Finland to Australia, HE Pontus Melander Ambassador of Sweden to Australia, Ulrik Friis Dahl Consul General of Denmark, Rob Lord Consul General of Norway and Sulev Kalamäe Honorary Consul of Estonia. It was literary a diplomatic putting competition with Norway closest to pin followed by Denmark, Estonia, Finland and Sweden as runner ups.

Well done to all who took part in the Nordic Putting Competitions!

Guests of Honour at the Nordic Open Golf Day Lunch were HE Arto Haapea Ambassador of Finland to Australia and HE Pontus Melander Ambassador of Sweden to Australia, who both in their speeches highlighted the importance of the Nordic collaboration and what a great joint effort this event resulted in.

The Nordic and Estonian Chambers especially thank Ambassador  Haapea and Ambassador Melander for taking part at the Nordic Open Golf Day Lunch 2025.
