
SACC Parliamentary Briefing and Industry Dialogue

The Swedish Australian Chamber of Commerce (SACC) Sustainability Committee is pleased to invite expressions of interest for a full day of parliamentary, industry and sustainability engagement in Canberra on Monday 14 September 2026.
This initiative forms part of the Committee’s 2026 strategic focus on parliamentary engagement and strengthening collaboration between Swedish-affiliated businesses, policymakers and industry leaders. The program is being developed in partnership with the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra and builds on the strong relationship between SACC and Australia’s parliamentary representatives, including the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Sweden.

🕘 8:30am arrival for a 9:00am start. Concluding at 12:00pm
📍 Tangney Alcove, Parliament House Canberra
The forum will bring together Swedish-affiliated companies, parliamentarians, policymakers and industry stakeholders for a focused discussion on key sustainability and industry transformation priorities.
The format has been designed to maximise engagement and meaningful dialogue, featuring short issue-setting presentations followed by facilitated discussions on three priority themes:
- Circularity and waste infrastructure
Addressing regional recycling challenges and advancing product stewardship - Decarbonisation and the energy transition
Including grid development, planning processes, and policy consistency across states - Electrification and EV fleets
Supporting the transition to low-emission transport solutions
The event will provide an opportunity to engage directly with ministers, shadow ministers, parliamentarians and key stakeholders, helping ensure industry perspectives are clearly communicated at a national level.
Following the parliamentary briefing, company representatives are invited to attend a Nordic Climate Collaboration event bringing together representatives from government, industry and the Nordic business community to discuss sustainability, innovation and climate solutions.
Participants will also be invited to an evening reception and dinner hosted by the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra, providing an opportunity for further networking and discussion with parliamentarians, government representatives and industry leaders.
