SACC Perth WA welcomes members and guests to the 2020 SACC IKEA Sustainability Forum
Following our very topical and popular IKEA Sustainability event in 2019, we are delighted to invite you to another SACC IKEA collaboration. On Thursday 12 November, IKEA will guide us through initiatives they have taken towards positively impacting the communities around the world.
The schedule for the event is as follows:

6.20 pm: Presentation starts
8.00 pm: Thank you and end of the event
The discussion topics for this evening include:
The Girls Academy – Girls Academy is the flagship program of Role Models and Leaders Australia, founded in 2004 by Olympian and champion basketballer Ricky Grace (AM, MEdL, BPoLSc). The full-time program works within the school system to drive community-led solutions aimed at overcoming the obstacles that prevent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls from attending and achieving at school.
IKEA Food Initiative – IKEA Retail Food takes a leading role to inspire and enable co-workers, customers, and the wider society to eat healthy and sustainable food within the limits of the planet. We will discuss limited food resources across the world and the ways IKEA is working towards sustainable food production.
Working with Refugees – IKEA is launching their pilot Skills for Employment program in Australia with 11 refugee co-workers commencing paid work placements in NSW and other activations in WA.
