Circular Economy Workshop 1 May at International Chamber House Melbourne

May 1 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

- $20.00 – $45.00

The SACC Sustainability Committee welcomes you to attend an inspiring event focused on Circular Recovery Systems and how we can establish resourse recovery systems that are viable and fosters local Circular Economies of scale. Transitioning to a circular economy is essential to tackling the environmental challenges of our linear economy, where resources are extracted, used and discarded. Businesses play a key role in this shift by rethinking and transforming their traditional models toward more sustainable, circular practices and recovery systems.

The event will kick off with a topic speaker on the Circular Economy Framework followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring key stakeholders in the Australian Circular Economy context, who will share knowledge, initiatives, opportunities and challenges covering key questions:

  1. How can Australia effectively achieve its Circular Economy (CE) targets, particularly the 80% recovery goal, given the current gaps in product and material reuse or reprocessing?
  2. How can businesses and policymakers drive progress from 60% to 80% circularity through innovation and collaboration?
  3. How do we best close the gap and improve the current lack of appropriate collection infrastructure?
  4. What type of reprocessing solutions are currently missing and what is required for reprocessing/reuse to work?

After the panel, Linda Nordin, Circular Economy Specialist, will lead an interactive workshop on the key drivers of the Circular Economy and why CE focus is cruical for businesses. She’ll explore the shift from linear to circular models, what it means for your business and the economic benefits of adopting circular solutions. Known for her practical, results-driven approach, Linda will provide actionable insights to help you navigate this transition.

The evening will finish with networking opportunities with like-minded people. Register now to join us for this insightful discussion and workshop on the Circular Economy!
