EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement – Business consultation on impacts and priorities – Online Event 9 June

Business Insights Shared on the EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement
On 9 June 2026, the Swedish Australian Chamber of Commerce (SACC), in collaboration with the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI) and the European Australian Business Council (EABC), hosted an insightful online webinar exploring the practical business implications of the EU–Australia Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The session brought together representatives from the European and Australian business communities to discuss how the Agreement will impact companies as it progresses through ratification and implementation. Guided by questions and priorities submitted by industry participants, the webinar provided practical insights into the opportunities and challenges the FTA presents for businesses operating across both markets.
Discussions focused on the Agreement’s potential to simplify trade, improve market access, reduce regulatory barriers, facilitate workforce mobility and strengthen investment and commercial collaboration between Australia and the European Union. Speakers also highlighted the importance of businesses preparing early to maximise the benefits once the Agreement enters into force.
The webinar reinforced that the EU–Australia FTA represents one of the most significant developments in the bilateral economic relationship in recent years and will create new opportunities across a wide range of industries.
